Fairytale Flower Cupcakes

I had so much fun on the weekend decorating these cute little cupcakes! I was so pleased with how they turned out too :) I love the bright colours of the flowers. They remind me of something you might find at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party in Alice in Wonderland (the Disney version - one of my all time favourites!). Or in any other Disney fairytale for that matter.

The cupcakes were vanilla flavoured ( I added a little vanilla sugar, as well as the vanilla essence, for that EXTRA vanilla flavour, and it worked a treat - yum!) and all the decorations were made from fondant. The flowers were inspired by designs from my current favourite cake decorating book - The Contemporary Cake Decorating Bible by Lindy Smith. Some amazing cake designs in there!

Here are some more pictures of the cupcakes:

I think this one is my favourite :) Though it's very hard to choose!

This one was decorated with all the left over bits, but it turned out quite pretty :)

And here are all of them:

Well, that's it from me for now - I'm off to watch a Disney movie!

  1. ;) I can definitely see these at a mad hatters tea party. They are so colorful & cheerful! I really love the flowers! And I'm really curious about the book you mentioned as well, always on the look out for good decorating guides. Thanks so much for sharing!
